The silicon battery uses SIO2 to replace the sulfuric acid solution of traditional lead-acid batteries. The solution is non-toxic and will not cause damage to humans or the environment. The battery has excellent high and low-temperature operating characteristics. At high temperatures the battery will continue to function as designed. At low temperatures the battery out performs lead acid batteries, at -40F the silicon dioxide battery can still discharge 40% of the battery’s capacity. After several destructive tests it was demonstrated that the life of the battery was not effected by general over-discharge. In the case of a large current discharge the battery will not expand, over-heat, or be damaged , and the recovery capacity of the battery is very good.
